Previously, many of the founding members had sacrificed personal time and money leading the organization. Our current President Eung Hwan Ahn, elected in 2015, had a vision that the Korean Chamber needed to be revitalized and restructured to provide better benefits and communication among our members. Our members, by connecting with the other minority groups and business forums, have realized the potential growth their businesses could experience. President Eung Hwan Ahn and other board members are presently working hard to achieve that goal.
Activities for the past 3 years included attending conferences, networking with other community Chamber groups and communicating with businesses in Korea introduce them to U.S. contacts. We have been helping Korean owned businesses in Arizona and businesses in Korea gain access to main stream of business industry in Arizona. It is our goal that we make continued progress with this and see the full benefit from it. We host a variety of seminars to help Koreans understand the American business model /environment and recent changes in many industries. Our Chamber also helps Koreans newly relocated to Arizona get settled and find housing & employment.
The Korean Chamber of Commerce of Arizona hosts the biggest annual event named Arizona Korean Festival. Held each year in October, it is widely popular among the Korean community. We show appreciation to fellow Koreans who have supported other Korean owned businesses and serve free food and gifts to guests. It allows the community to mingle and enjoy new acquaintances.
